Anorthos Famagustas European journey came to an end on Tuesday after a 1-0 defeat to Panathinaikos in Athens. Temuri Ketsbias side couldn't even celebrate the consolation of a UEFA Cup spot after hearing that Werder Bremen had beaten Inter Milan in the other game on the night. It was a sad end to what was a magical few months for the Cypriot refugee club. After seeing off opponents in Rapid Vienna and Olympiacos in the qualifying round of the competition, Ketsbaias heroes succeeded in gaining six points, making them the highest team to finish fourth this season. (They previously won against Panathinaikos and twice drew against Werder along with a draw against Inter). Ketsbaia said "Our aim is now to win the league and that is what we must focus our efforts on" before going on to congratulate his players for their achievement.
