The University of Cyprus (UCy) has featured among the best higher education providers in the world has entered the top-200 list in this year’s rankings by subject of studies compiled by QS.

It ranks in the 151-200 category for ‘Education’, one of the record-breaking 42 disciplines examined by the leading global provider of higher education information and research.

In reaching world’s top 200, the University of Cyprus ranks alongside China’s Tsinghua University (25th in the overall QS World University rankings), the United Kingdom’s University of Leicester, and Australia’s University of Technology Sydney as one of the world’s top 200 places to study Education. At the front end of the table, University College London’s Institute of Education beats Harvard University to the world number 1 spot.

The University of Cyprus inclusion in the list means that Cyprus is one of 60 countries worldwide that contain universities recognised by QS as providing a world-class education in one or more subjects.

The expert opinion of 76,798 academics and 44,426 employers informed the results, alongside the analysis of 28.5 million research papers and over 113 million citations sourced from the Scopus/Elsevier bibliometric database.

Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) continue to dominate, leading in 24 subjects between them. Each takes twelve leading positions.

Earlier this month, UCy was included in the top 200 universities in Europe.
