Steni

The village of Steni is found in the northwestern part of Cyprus, five kilometres from the Bay of Polis Chrysochous. Built at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level its wonderful climate produces cherries, avocado, mango, watermelons, apples, lemons and oranges in abundance. Steni is located between mountains and plains and much of the village history relates to the river that flowed across the community with five oil mills situated along its banks, the oldest dating back to the 16th century. The bridge that crossed the river connecting the two parts of the village was the meeting point for locals during the evenings, who would sit chatting while listening to the flow of the river.
