Nicosia - Cyprus and Russia on Thursday signed bilateral agreements and memoranda as well as an action plan to boost relations between the two countries.
During the historic state visit of Russian President Dmitri Medvedev a tax treaty was also signed for the avoidance of double taxation.
Speaking to the press at the Presidential Palace after talks with Medvedev, Christofias thanked Moscow for its steady and vigorous support in efforts to reach a solution to the Cyprus problem without blackmailing deadlines and arbitrations.
The Russian President referred to the true friendship and unity between the two peoples and stressed that Russia’s position on the Cyprus problem remains unchanged.
Medvedev underlined that Moscow is in favour of reaching a solution, without outside pressures, as it is standard practice in the international community, aiming for one state, one international personality and one sovereignty.
