A new planetarium in Nicosia’s Tamassos area that will be one of the best 10 in Europe is expected to be inaugurated in autumn, Philenews reports.

The project is sponsored by Vyacheslav Zarenkov, a Russian oligarch who lives in Cyprus for the past 20 years.

The project’s architect said that 10 projectors in simultaneous operation will be creating a real spectacle using digital technologies and that visitors will be able to observe the constellations and various celestial bodies at any time.

The new planetarium will be equipped with a modern telescope as well, and this will allow the center to function also as an observatory.

In addition, the planetarium will become a place where children and adults will be able to learn more about the starry sky in all details. There will also be scientific, educational and feature movies there.
