Gold for Cyprus at Commonwealth Games

The results increase for Cyprus at the Commonwealth Games.  Currently the result is in total eight; six gold and two bronze.

The gold has been won in artistic gymnastics (2 gold medals), rhythmic gymnastics (2 gold medals), shooting (2 gold medals) and the bronze in artistic gymnastics and shooting.

Cyprus joined the Commonwealth in 1961 and has attended nine Commonwealth Games since the Edmonton 1978 Commonwealth Games. It has won gold, silver and bronze medals in shooting, athletics, boxing, gymnastics, judo and wrestling. At the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Cyprus won two gold medals, four silver medals and two bronze medals.

The Cyprus Olympic Committee was formed in 1974 and was recognised in 1978. It is responsible for the organisation of Cyprus’s Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Youth Games teams.
