Travellers arriving in the Republic of Cyprus may enter the Republic only through the legal ports of entry: Larnaka and Pafos International Airports, or the ports of Larnaka, Lemesos (Limassol), and Pafos.

All airports in the part of the Republic illegally occupied by the Turkish invasion forces have been declared by the Government of Cyprus as prohibited ports of entry and exit, and no visitor should enter or leave the Republic through these ports.

As a result of the Turkish invasion and military occupation of the northern part of Cyprus, the port of Ammochostos and the Keryneia harbour are closed to shipping and navigation, and have been declared by the Government of Cyprus as prohibited ports of entry and exit, and no visitor is allowed to enter or leave the Republic through these ports.

Airports

Visitors arriving in Cyprus by air may enter the Republic only through the International Airports of Larnaka and Pafos.

LARNAKA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
The airport is:

49 km (31 miles) from Lefkosia;
70 km (44 miles) from Lemesos;

Passenger and cruise traffic in Cyprus is served by the multipurpose ports of Lemesos (Limassol) and Larnaka on the south coast of the country.

LIMASSOL (LEMESOS) PORT

The largest port facility on the island, it is situated in the western part of Lemesos town and can accommodate vessels of any L.O.A.

Ferries connect Lemesos port with Greece, Israel, Egypt, Lebanon etc.

The port also serves as a base and stop-over for a large number of cruise ships conducting cruises in the region on a regular and frequent basis.

Situated on the eastern part of Larnaka town at a distance of 5 km from the Larnaka International Airport, the port can accommodate vessels, not far in excess of 250 m. L.O.A. and longer vessels according to their ability to manoeuvre.

Marinas, Yacht Harbours and Shelters

Apart from Larnaka Marina and St. Raphael Marina mentioned hereinbelow, there are also a number of ports and fishing shelters in Cyprus.

LARNAKA MARINA

Larnaka Marina is situated in the bay of Larnaka and lies 110 nautical miles from Beirut and Tripoli, 145 n.m. from Tel-Aviv, 230 n.m. from Port-Said and 250 n.m. from Rhodes. The position of the Marina is 34 deg. 55 min. North - 33 deg. 38 min. East.

The Marina, an official Port of Entry, has berthing facilities for 450 yachts of various sizes.
The minimum depth of the usable part of the Marina is approximately 1.5m and the maximum is 4.0m. The nature of the seabed is MUD and SAND. The Marina is entirely protected from all weather conditions.

Access to the Marina is controlled and limited to yacht owners and crews. The Marina has security guards on a 24hour basis.

Amenities

All yachts moored in the Marina may use all facilities and services available, at a reasonable charge.

  • Electricity: Supplied on all quays at 240 volts/50HZ (consumption measured)
  • Telephone, Telefax and E-mail Services are available at the Marina Office.
  • Diesel-Fuel is available at the end of the main North pier and Petrol at the Main Marina Fuel Station as
    well as butane gas cylinders
  • Yacht Repair/Facilities: many independent private companies operate inside the Marina for the hauling/launching and servicing / repairing of yachts. Insurance and job-terms are independently agreed.
  • Laundry-Showers-Lockers-Post Office boxes: Available within the Marina.
  • Fire Fighting equipment is installed throughout the Marina reaching yachts within the area.
  • Public Address System to all areas

ST RAPHAEL MARINA, LIMASSOL

The Marina, located at longitude 33 deg. 11 min. latitude 34deg. 42min., is a very special feature of the Resort, ideal for motor and sailing yacht enthusiasts.

There is 24-hour security with guards patrolling the Marina grounds for the safety of the guests.

The breakwater is constructed in such a way as to protect the Marina from waves up to 5 metres in height. Fire fighting equipment is installed throughout the Marina reaching all yachts within the area. The space available for each yacht is fully supported by a Mediterranean type mooring system for stern Mooring. There are 227 berths accommodating boats up to 30m LOA and 4m draught. Yachts are berthed to 3 concrete piers with all facilities, including connected freshwater, electricity, telephone, T.V. and hooked-up in-house video.
