On the 3rd June 2018 there will be a Guinness World Record challenge for the Hasapiko Dance at the Castle Square on Paphos Harbour. For the record to be achieved at least 1200 dancers are needed to dance simultaneously for at least 5 minutes.

The Hasapiko dance is a Greek folk dance. Its name comes from the word butcher. The dance originated in the Middle Ages as a battle mime with swords performed by the butchers guild, which adopted it from the military.
