A popular flower festival, which supports Cyprus charities, returns to Paphos in May for the eighth consecutive year.

The event, which is organised by the Anglican church of Paphos and the Latin Catholic community, takes place at Ayia Kyriaki church-St.Pauls pillar church-in Kato Paphos, and has welcomed thousands of visitors who come to view the flower displays in the breathtaking setting of the famous church.

Each year, the displays have a theme, this year, the subject is ‘celebrations.'

These will include many Christian Festivals that are celebrated by both the British and Cypriot communities, as well as some secular ones. The Cypriot celebrations of Green Monday and Kataklysmos , marked by the British as Shrove Tuesday and Pentecost, along with weddings, baptisms, Mothering Sunday, carnival, Christmas and many more will all be represented.”

Although entrance to the successful event is free, all of the profits, which come from donations, are donated to Cyprus charities.

Refreshments will be available all day at the Anglican Church Hall and St Michael's Hospice Shop, which are situated close to the church.

In addition, at 6pm every evening there will be Service of Music in the Church. Admission to these concerts is also free, but there will be a retiring collection.
