Pupils and teachers of the English School Nicosia are gearing up to hold an event on Thursday in which volunteers will cut their hair as part of a campaign to raise awareness for children with cancer.

‘We care We help’ is a non-profitable club of the English school Nicosia, led by volunteers – both teachers and students – to engage in charitable events.

This year’s event will see the club raising awareness for children with cancer by hosting the hair-raising event at the residence of the headmaster on Thursday, February 11 between 9.30am and 1.30pm.

The event will also see First Lady Andri Anastasiades in attendance.

Volunteers will cut 20cm of their hair as part of a drive to create wigs for children undergoing treatment. Some pupils will also shave their heads in support of the event while other will be able to sign up for the Cyprus Bone Marrow Donor Registry at the Karaiskakio Foundation.

The sponsors of the event are The English School Nicosia, Toni&Guy and Swiss Cottage while the event is also being supported by Kiss FM.
