Meteorologists are warning members of the public to prepare for a return in cold weather with rain, snow and even dust expected to home in on the island.

Following a week of relative sunshine and warm weather, the cold is expected to creep back in as of Friday afternoon. Friday afternoon will also see dust levels rise according to data from the Meteorological Services.

Temperatures are expected to drop to 6’C inland, 9’C on the coast and 4’C on Troodos on Thursday night but rain clouds are expected to surface by Friday afternoon giving way to rain showers and possibly even storms – originating from the west of the island – by nightfall.

Temperatures are also expected to drop sharply starting from Friday and carrying on throughout the weekend.

The cloudy conditions will remain on Saturday with more rain and possibly even storms expected while snowfall will be expected in the higher regions of Troodos. Sunday will see better weather with the remote possibility of light showers before temperatures begin to climb again by Sunday afternoon.
