A campaign titled "We buy our own products" is being launched in Cyprus and Greece, and will continue through 2013, with an aim to help the two countries` economies, which are facing serious problems due to the global financial crisis.

The campaign is an initiative of the Cyprus-Greece Business Association, which presented on Tuesday the actions to be undertaken to promote Cypriot and Greek products.

Chairman of the Association Akis Pigasiou said that "preference to Cypriot and Greek products would help the businesses and producers, enhance exports between the two countries, maintain jobs and create new ones."

He said unemployment, especially among young people, was high and "that is why we must support our own industrial, artisan, agricultural, farming and other units to develop, innovate and create new jobs."

Pigasiou called on the consumers to respond to the campaign, and pointed out the importance of social solidarity and cohesion in trying times.
