Pafos Zoo was opened to the public in September 2003 after taking 3 years to complete. The founder of the Zoo, Mr Christos Christoforou, originally started the project for his private use to house his collection of birds. Mr Christoforou decided to open to the public so they could also enjoy his private collection.

Pafos Zoo was the first established and largest license zoo in Cyprus. The Zoo is set in a lush and unspoilt natural environment of more than 100,000 square metres in the area of St George, a 20-minute drive from Paphos Town.

It's home to an extensive variety of birds and animals from every corner of the planet. The collection of parrots and venomous snakes is one of the largest in Europe!

Pafos Zoo offers a great wildlife experience with residents such as giraffe, monkeys, meerkats, crocodile, kangaroos, albino wallabies, mouflon, white lions, tigers and many more.

An amphitheatre sets the scene for the performers and the brightly-coloured macaws and the smart owls to entertain you with their clever and amusing tricks that they perform at their shows three times per day.

A day out at Pafos Zoo is a perfect way to spend surrounded by the magical sounds and colours of nature. Enrich your senses in this beautiful environment of lakes, ponds and gardens.

Pafos Zoo is committed to the animal care and creates compelling experiences that connect people with wildlife and inspire personal responsibility for conserving the natural world.
