Q: Who is The Villa Group? 
A: We are a British business, based in Paphos Cyprus, acting as an Agent for 100's of villa owners around the world. All of our villas and services are illustrated on this Internet website. This site provides a cost effective way of allowing guests to book directly with villa owners and stay in quality, individual villas, at lower prices than if they were booking through a travel agent or tour operator.

Q: Aren't villas more expensive than a hotel? 
A: As you explore the villas we represent you'll see that many villas are often much cheaper than prices of hotels of the same quality standard. Villa rentals offer more privacy, more comfort, and more freedom than hotel rooms. Your villa also comes with a fully equipped kitchen, making a vacation rental an economical choice. When two or more people are travelling, a rental is usually considerably less expensive than staying in hotel rooms and eating all of your meals out. When you factor in all the benefits and amenities of a private villa, you'll quickly realize that villas offer superb value. (Remember to compare rates per room/per night).

Q: Are the rates per person or for the entire villa? 
A: Our rates are for the entire villa.

Q: Are the prices in Sterling or Euros?

A: All prices quoted are in British Pounds Sterling.

Q: On which day do villa bookings usually commence?
A: Most villas have flexible changeover days, only being subject to availability, however a few villas stipulate a particular day. Please refer to the rental rates page of your specific villa/s for this information.

Q: What is the required length of stay?
A: Normally a minimum 7-night stay is required. Some villas may accept shorter stays (5 nights) especially during the low season. Please note: a premium rate for shorter stays may be required.

Q: Is it possible to organise a late check out?
A: To guarantee a late check out from the villa you will need to book and pay for an additional nights stay, which will allow you to stay in the villa until your departure for the airport. If you prefer you can wait until you are in resort and speak with the villa owner/property manager directly. Generally a late check out can only be confirmed a few days before your scheduled departure as it depends on whether an arrival is expected in to the villa and whether cleaning schedules can be organised to accommodate. This is granted at the villa owner/property manager's discretion and unfortunately cannot be guaranteed. Depending on the number of extra hours required a small fee may apply.

Q: Is it possible to organise an early check in?
A: To guarantee an early check in at the villa you will need to book and pay for an additional nights stay. This will allow you immediate access to the villa as soon as you arrive in the resort.

Q: What is included in the welcome grocery pack?
A: Generally bread, butter, marmalade, jam, milk, fruit juice, water, tea, coffee and sugar however these items may vary in each country and may include local specialities.

Q: What does maximum occupancy mean?

A: This is the maximum number of people the villa will accommodate (excluding infants). The villa owner reserves the right to refuse entry to the villa, or evict from the villa, if the number of persons occupying the property exceeds the stated maximum amount at anytime.

Q: Can we hold a party at the villa?
A: Generally the villa and its facilities are strictly for the use of the villa residents only. Visitors may be allowed however prior approval from the villa owner/property manager must be obtained.

Q: Is a security deposit required?
A: The vast majority of our properties do not require a security deposit. Our accommodation is made available for letting on the understanding that the property will be left clean and tidy at the time of checkout and all personal waste removed from the property. You will be held responsible for any damage or breakages to the property during your stay. These must be reported to the villa owner/property manager immediately and appropriate compensation made so that the villa can be fully equipped for the next guests.  Please refer to the rental rates page of your specific villa/s for this information.

Q: Who will look after me during my stay?
A: Prior to your arrival you will be provided with the 24 hour local contact number for the person responsible for the property in which you are staying.

Q: How will I find the villa?
A: Once the full payment for your booking has been received and you have advised us of your full flight details, we will send you (by email) comprehensive driving directions from the relevant arrival airport to the your accommodation. This document will also contain the key handover instructions for the villa and a local contact number should you require any assistance in resort, it is therefore imperative that you print this document and remember to take it with you.

Q: How will I access the villa?
A: Key handover instructions vary from villa to villa. Specific instructions for the property you have booked will be supplied once your full payment has been received. Please remember to print this document and take it with you on your holiday.

Q: Can you provide us with the full address of the villa?
A: If a full postal address is available for the accommodation this can be provided after the deposit payment has been received.

Q: How is payment made?

A: Payment can be made by Visa, Mastercard or Debit Card with a card processing fee of 2.5%. Alternatively payments can be made by bank transfer to HSBC in the United Kingdom.

Q: What is your deposit and cancellation policy? 
A: For all of our villas, the following standard practices apply: A 30% deposit is required to hold a reservation. Reservations are not considered firm until the deposit, in cleared funds is received and our booking confirmation has been issued. The balance of your payment is due 60 days prior to your arrival date. In the event of you cancelling the booking, no refund is made. It is therefore strongly recommended that you take out Travel Insurance.

Q: Is Travel Insurance Required?
A: Yes, it is strongly recommended that you arrange comprehensive travel insurance to include accommodation cancellation. If you require assistance in this respect, please refer to our links page.

Q: Why do you require my flight details?
A: These details are passed to the villa owner so that should you not arrive at the villa at the expected time due to a flight delay, the villa owner can contact the arrival airport and using the details provided obtain up to date information on the status of your flight.

Q: Are towels and linen provided? 
Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided at all of our properties. We advise that you bring your own towels for pool/beach use as these may not be provided. The villas towels are only for use inside the property and are not to be used outdoors, on the sun beds, or at the beach. Towels and linen are usually changed at the end of 7 days unless otherwise stated.

Q: Are beach towels provided?
A: Yes, in some villas. Please refer to the villa description to check on your specific villa/s.

Q: Is air conditioning included in the rental rate?
A: It depends on the villa. At some properties air conditioning is included in the rental rate, at some the charge for air conditioning can be paid prior to travel and for others the charge can only be paid in resort (in local currency) directly to the villa owner/property manager. Please refer to the rental rates page of your specific villa/s for this information. Please note all charges stated are per unit per day.

Q: Can a baby cot and highchair be provided?
A: At the vast majority of villas both a baby cot and highchair can be provided free of charge, please refer to the villa description to check on your specific villa/s. If more than one of each item is required, this can usually be arranged for a small fee. Please contact us for more details.

Q: Are an iron and ironing board provided?
A: Yes

Q: Are hairdryers provided?
A: Yes, in some villas. Please refer to the villa description to check on your specific villa/s.

Q: Are barbecues provided?
A: Yes, in some villas. Please refer to the villa description to check on your specific villa/s.

Q: Is it possible for the swimming pool to be heated?
A: Some of our properties do have a heated pool facility. The easiest way to identify these villas is to select "Private heated pool" when searching for a villa on our website. The daily supplement for this facility varies from villa to villa and can be found on the rental rates section.

Q: Can you organise car hire?
A: We have teamed up with some of the finest car hire companies to bring you the best quality cars at the lowest possible prices. Refer to the car hire section of our website, complete the request form and receive a free no obligation quotation for your preferred vehicle.

Q: Are the Safety Standards and Regulations the same as in the UK?
A: The safety standards and regulations in operation in your chosen destination may not reach the same level as those we enjoy in the U.K. The monitoring, enforcement and compliance with these local regulations is a matter for the authorities of that country and the foreign supplier of the services concerned. The general standards of safety and hygiene, fire precautions etc, will generally be lower than in the U.K. Liability insurance requirements vary considerably from country to country, as does the responsibility placed on an organisation by local law. Please therefore take all precautions to protect yourself and your family whilst on holiday.

Q: Are your villa Star Ratings similar to those given to hotels?

A: Our Star Ratings are based not only on the quality and facilities of the villa, but also the location, privacy and views. They are purely to give a guide to compare with our other villas and are not the same grading as used by hotels.

Q. What can I do if I leave personal belongings in resort?
A:
Please bear in mind it is your responsibility to ensure that all your belongings are removed from the villa at the end of your holiday. Before departing from your accommodation please ensure you check the villa thoroughly for your personal belongings i.e. the safety deposit box, wardrobes, drawers, under beds, bathroom cabinets, clothes line etc.
